Khyber Resort flags off Subrata Boral’s high-altitude Himalayan Expedition from Gulmarg

Gulmarg, Jul 15: The Khyber Himalayan Resort and Spa, Gulmarg, on Tuesday flagged off an extraordinary high-altitude expedition led by veteran motorsport rider Subrata Boral.

As per a statement issued, the journey, themed “Conquer Heights with Least Torque,” will see Boral attempt to scale some of the world’s highest motorable passes on a TVS XL100, including Umling La at 19,300 feet, proving that determination can outshine horsepower.

This challenging journey will see Boral flag off from Srinagar and navigate a formidable route encompassing Zoji La, Kargil, Photi La, Leh, Khardung La, Wari La, Chang La, Pangong Tso, Marsimik La, Rezang La, Umling La, Nurbu La, Karu, Tanglang La, Yaar La, Baralacha La, Manali, Darcha, Shinku La, Padum, and Pensi La, before returning via Kargil to Jammu.

Among the daunting passes Boral aims to scale are Umling La—5,883 m (19,300 ft), Marsimik La—5,582 m (18,313 ft), Photi La—5,524 m (18,124 ft), Chang La—5,360 m (17,586 ft), Khardung La—5,359 m (17,582 ft), Tanglang La—5,328 m (17,480 ft), Wari La—5,312 m (17,428 ft), Shinku La—5,091 m (16,703 ft), Sapi La—4,397 m (14,426 ft), Pensi La—4,400 m (14,400 ft), and several others.

This expedition, as per the statement, is poised to become a landmark event in Indian motorcycling history, demonstrating that age is merely a number and passion knows no horsepower limit. Boral’s journey will serve as an inspiring testament to the adage, “If you have the will, there is always the way.”
