SRINAGAR: The Khyber Cement Kashmir Super League 2025 began with an electrifying opening match at Srinagar’s TRC Turf Ground, as Greenend Heroes FC edged out Athwas India XI 2-1 in a gripping contest that set the stage for a high-octane tournament.
The league was officially inaugurated by MLA Zadibal Tanvir Sadiq and Irfan Shahmiri, Chairman of Downtown Heroes FC and CHINAR International, in a vibrant opening ceremony that drew enthusiastic crowds and dignitaries alike.
Greenend Heroes FC’s Hyder Yousuf stole the show with a dazzling performance, netting both goals for his side and securing the win. His precise finishes earned him both the Man of the Match and Game Changer of the Match honours. Athwas India XI’s Ateeb Dar scored a commendable goal in the second half, but the comeback attempt fell short.
The Golden Save Award went to Umaid Hussain of Greenend Heroes FC for his crucial interventions between the posts.
The post-match awards ceremony was attended by Chief Sports Officer Anisa Nabi, Khyber Cement representative Wasim Khan, and Irfan Gujju of IA Multiventure.
