The event aimed to create awareness among youth and local communities about India’s developmental initiatives, environmental protection, sustainable lifestyle practices, and citizen-centric governance. Students from Boys and Girls Higher Secondary Schools, Kargil, participated enthusiastically along with representatives from departments such as Education, Forest, Agriculture, Rural Development, Municipality, and Police.

Speakers delivered lectures on sustainability, cleanliness, responsible citizenship, and the importance of collective community engagement in realising the vision of Viksit Bharat. They also discussed government welfare schemes and the significance of the new criminal laws in promoting transparency and accountability.

Executive Councillor, LAHDC Kargil, Er Punchok Tashi, who was the chief guest, lauded CBC’s consistent outreach efforts in remote and border regions of Ladakh. He said such initiatives empower youth with knowledge about governance and development and urged participants to take full advantage of the government’s welfare schemes.

Field Publicity Officer, CBC Srinagar, Naseer Ahmad Rather, said the bureau remains committed to taking government communication to the grassroots level through participatory and interactive means. He informed that similar programmes had recently been organised in Leh and that a follow-up event is planned at Government Degree College, Drass, to ensure wider public engagement across Ladakh.

The event included expert lectures, interactive sessions, quiz, painting, and debate competitions. CBC’s empanelled artists also presented a skit highlighting the themes of Viksit Bharat and Swachhata, which drew appreciation from the audience.

The programme concluded with a Swachhata pledge, where participants reaffirmed their commitment to cleanliness, environmental protection, lawfulness, and collective contribution toward national progress and sustainable development.
