Kashmir: 70-Year-Old Man Killed in Road Accident

SRINAGAR: A 70-year-old man from Awantipora died after being hit by a vehicle while crossing the road, succumbing to his injuries at a hospital in Srinagar on Wednesday.

Officals said that the elderly pedestrian was first taken to SDH Awantipora and later referred to SMHS Hospital for advanced treatment. However, he could not survive the injuries.

The deceased has been identified as Ghulam Rasool Chopan, a resident of Padgam Pora Awantipora, they said.

He was hit by a Maruti vehicle while crossing the road, resulting in severe head trauma, they said.

Police have registered a case and further investigation is underway. (KNC)
