Kamraj Forest Division Kupwara Observes Forest Martyrs Day at Bagh-i-Tehseen Park – Alfaaz – The Words

Kupwara: The Kamraj Forest Division, Kupwara on Thursday observed Forest Martyrs Day at the Forest Martyrs’ Memorial, Bagh-i-Tehseen Park, to pay homage to the officers and frontline staff who laid down their lives in the line of duty while safeguarding forests.

The solemn program witnessed floral tributes, a moment of silence in memory of martyrs, and awareness sessions highlighting the importance of forest protection and sustainable development. A plantation drive was also carried out to mark the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, Range Officer Kupwara, Mir Faizan Anwar, said:
“Forest Martyrs Day reminds us of the supreme sacrifices of our colleagues who guarded our green wealth with their lives. It is our moral duty to carry forward their legacy by protecting forests with dedication and responsibility.”

Range Officer North Lolab, Reyaz Ahmad Wani, in his remarks stated, “Our forest martyrs are unsung heroes who fought for the environment. Every sapling planted today is a tribute to their courage and a step towards keeping their mission alive.”

Delivering his statement, Divisional Forest Officer Kamraj, Owais Farooq Mir, said, “The sacrifices of forest martyrs are unparalleled. They inspire us to strengthen forest protection measures and work tirelessly for conservation. Forests are not only our natural wealth but also our future, and preserving them is the greatest honor we can give to our martyrs.”

The event concluded with a vote of thanks and a collective pledge to protect and conserve forests in the spirit of the martyrs’ legacy.
