Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Jammu has invited applications from eligible Indian candidates for the post of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) under a nuclear R&D project funded by the Board of Research in Nuclear Science (BRNS). The project is titled “Experiments and subchannel code development for the investigation of DNB type Critical Heat Flux (CHF) in a 37 fuel rod bundle of an IPHWR.”
According to the official notification, this is a one-year position initially, extendable up to three years based on satisfactory performance. The fellowship offers a consolidated monthly salary of Rs. 37000. Candidates with degrees in Mechanical, Chemical, Energy, or Nuclear Engineering are eligible to apply.

Vacancy Details:
IIT Jammu has announced 1 vacant position for the role of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) under the specialization of Thermal and Fluid Engineering and Experimental Fluid Mechanics. The appointment will be for one year and may be extended for up to three years.
Eligibility Criteria:
Candidates applying for the JRF post must have an M.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Energy Technology, Nuclear Engineering and Technology or related streams with a minimum of 65% marks. A valid GATE score is preferable. Alternatively, candidates with a B.Tech in related fields and a minimum of 65% marks are also eligible, provided they have qualified in any one of the national eligibility tests such as GATE, CSIR-UGC NET (including lectureship), or any national-level exam conducted by Central Government departments like DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, etc.
Applicants must not exceed 28 years of age. A relaxation of up to 5 years is applicable for SC/ST/OBC, women, and physically handicapped candidates. Desirable qualifications include a strong understanding of thermal systems, experience with experimental techniques, CAD modeling, laser diagnostics, and technical writing.
