
SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) has issued an important notice regarding the facility of scribe and compensatory time for candidates with Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) appearing in the written examination for the post of Medical Officer (Allopathic) in the Health and Family Welfare Department.
According to the notification, the written examination is scheduled to be held on March 14, 2026 (Saturday) from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
The Commission stated that candidates with benchmark disabilities who have limitations in writing, including speed, will be allowed the facility of scribe and compensatory time as per rules.
For candidates falling under categories such as blindness, locomotor disability (both arms affected) and cerebral palsy, the facility of a scribe will be provided if requested by the candidate.
JKPSC further clarified that 20 minutes of compensatory time per hour of examination will be granted to eligible candidates certified by the Standing Medical Board or a Government-constituted Medical Board, in accordance with the JK PSC (Conduct of Examination) Rules, 2022.
Candidates seeking the facility must submit the required documents to the Controller of Examinations, JKPSC, on or before March 9, 2026.Required Documents Include:Application on plain paper .Self-attested PwD certificate.Certificate regarding physical limitation to write (Annexure-A).Undertaking letter for using a scribe (to be provided by the Commission).Admit card/Roll number and contact number
The Commission also stated that the candidature of such applicants will remain provisional until verification of documents, and any fraudulent claim of PwD status will lead to debarment from the examination.
