JKPCC vows to protect farmers interest amid international trade deals

Jammu, Feb 26: JKPCC held a marathon six hours long meeting to chalk out an action plan to oppose, tooth and nail the unilateral US- India trade deal which has been termed as anti-farmers likely to hit hard the farmers, fruit growers and others in J&K more than other parts of country.

As per a statement, PCC President Tariq Hameed Karra chaired the day long meet of prominent Congress leaders from all twenty districts from Kashmir and Jammu region including Senior leaders, MLAs, former ministers / legislators, PCC observers and Coordinators for districts, DCC Presidents and former Presidents besides heads of frontal wings and other senior leaders.

ICC General Secretary & CLP Leader GA Mir also attended the important meeting today, on the directions of AICC. Besides Working President Raman Bhalla,

Addressing the meeting Karra said that  the recent US India deal will destroy the farmers, fruit growers and others especially hot hard the different sections in Jammu & Kashmir. He said that US has imposed a deal upon India as the Prime Minister is compromised due to various pressures and has bartered the interests of farmers in the country. “It has happened for the first time that farmers interests have been compromised which will destroy the farming community including those in allied sectors like poultry, dairy etc. He said that Congress party and entire opposition has raised serious objections over the  mode and manner and contents of the deal which anti farmers, anti- people,” said Karra in the press release.
