Srinagar, Aug 17: Jammu and Kashmir Civil Society Forum (JKCSF) under the chairmanship of Abdul Qayoom Wani has expressed serious concern over the heavy rain alert and apprehensions of cloudbursts in the region, according to a press release.

The Forum strongly demands that all schools be kept closed on Monday as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of students. The higher reaches are especially vulnerable, and the authorities are requested to keep into consideration any natural misadventure that may occur due to the prevailing weather conditions, it said.

Abdul Qayoom Wani said that such precautionary measures are essential to avoid risks to the lives of children and staff and urged the government to act responsibly in light of the warnings issued by weather authorities.
