JKCA to host U-23 men’s OD league in Srinagar from July 20

Srinagar, Jul 16: The Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) is set to organise the U-23 Men’s One-Day (OD) League at Sher-e-Kashmir Stadium, Srinagar, from July 20 to July 30, 2025, a senior JKCA official confirmed on Tuesday.

As per the JKCA official, the league will likely feature six teams comprising over 80 players selected after the recently concluded deep selection camps in Jammu and Srinagar.

The outstation players and members of the selection committee are scheduled to report in Srinagar on July 19.

“This league is being conducted to provide a competitive platform to players in the U-23 category. It will help identify talent for the upcoming national tournaments,” the official said.

The trial matches during the league will determine the final squad for the U-23 team that will represent J&K in national competitions. The official stated that those with outstanding performance in national competition are likely to be considered for senior teams like the Ranji Trophy and Mushtaq Ali T20 based on their performance at the national U-23 level.

The official added, “The matches will be open to spectators, and we expect a good turnout, as cricket lovers will get to watch some of the region’s finest young talents.”

The league, as per the JKCA, will run till July 30, and selectors from both Jammu and Srinagar will oversee the process.
