JKCA releases list of players for Ranji Trophy preparatory camp in Pondicherry

Jammu, Jan 11: The Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) has announced the list of players selected for the Ranji Trophy preparatory camp to be held at Pondicherry, as part of its efforts to prepare and acclimatise the J&K team ahead of the upcoming domestic season.

According to an official communication, the decision to conduct the camp in Pondicherry has been taken to ensure better match readiness and exposure to different playing conditions.

As per the schedule, the players and members of the support staff will travel directly to Chennai on January 16, 2026, from their respective locations under arrangements made by the JKCA. From Chennai, the entire contingent will travel collectively by bus to Pondicherry, with transportation arranged by the Cricket Association of Pondicherry. The JKCA has made it clear that no individual movement from Chennai to Pondicherry will be permitted, and the Co-Manager has been directed to ensure collective travel of the team.

 Players Selected for the Camp

The players named for the Ranji Trophy preparatory camp are,

Shubam Khajuria, Dikshant Kundal, Yawar Hassan, Paras Dogra, Abdul Samad, Shubam Pundir, Kanhaiya Wadhwan, Kawalpreet Singh, Abid Mushtaq, Vanshaj Sharma, Sahil Lotra, Aqib Nabi, Yudhvir Singh, Umar Nazir and Sunil Kumar.

Support Staff for the Camp

The JKCA has also detailed the support staff for the camp. Ajay Sharma will serve as the Head Coach and will join the team on January 17. Dighant Yagnik has been appointed as Fielding Coach, while P Krishna Kumar will be the Bowling Coach.

Hilal Ahmad will function as the Manager and is scheduled to join the team on January 17, with Ravi Sharma named as Co-Manager. The fitness and medical support team will include Sunny Kumar (Trainer), Chirag Pandya (Physiotherapist) and Naresh Kumar (Masseur).

Susheel Pajnu has been designated as the Video Analyst and will join the squad on January 24, while Manoj Singh will be attached as the Throw Arm Expert.

 Instructions for Video Analysis

The JKCA has issued specific instructions regarding video analysis. The video analyst has been directed not to provide any pictures or video clips directly to players or media houses. All video material is to be submitted daily to the Cricket Operations & Development Section, with information shared with the Member Cricket Operations & Development and Member Administration.

The association said the preparatory camp is aimed at ensuring optimal preparation, fitness, and tactical readiness of the J&K team ahead of the Ranji Trophy, while maintaining discipline, coordination, and standard operating procedures during travel and training.
