Kupwara: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Saturday flagged off a group of 80 students from Kupwara and Handwara districts for a six-day Bharat Darshan Tour covering Delhi and Hyderabad.
The flag-off ceremony, held in the early hours of the morning, was presided over by senior police officers including SSP Kupwara Ghulam Jeelani Wani and SSP Handwara Chaudhary Mushtaq.
Organised annually by J&K Police, the Bharat Darshan Tour aims to expose young students to India’s diverse culture, heritage, languages, cuisines, and historical landmarks. The initiative is designed to broaden their perspective and reinforce the spirit of unity in diversity.
For several students, this tour also marks their maiden air travel, further adding to their excitement. The Police Department has made complete arrangements for boarding and lodging, while dedicated police personnel will accompany the group as caretakers throughout the journey.
Speaking on the occasion, the officers underlined the importance of such initiatives in shaping the outlook of the youth by providing them firsthand exposure to the richness and vastness of the country.
The participating students and their families expressed gratitude to J&K Police, SSP Kupwara, SSP Handwara, and DIG Baramulla for facilitating the opportunity, calling it a memorable and life-enriching experience.
