Jammu: The Government of Jammu and Kashmir Friday announced an increase in the monthly honorarium for Vocational Trainers (VTs) engaged under Samagra Shiksha and PM SHRI.

Trainers engaged before April 1, 2022, will receive Rs 25,000 per month, while those engaged on or after that date will get Rs 22,000. The revised rates will be effective from April 1, 2024, and arrears will be disbursed by Vocational Training Partners.

Education Minister Sakeena Itoo said the move reflects the Government’s commitment to improving skill-based education and supporting teachers. She noted that Vocational Trainers play a key role in bridging academic learning with industry-oriented practical training, contributing to workforce readiness and economic development in Jammu and Kashmir.

The hike follows long-pending demands, consideration of economic conditions, and recognition of the increasing responsibilities of vocational educators.
