J&K Govt designates special courts for trial of offences investigated by SIA

Jammu, Jul 4: J&K Government has designated the Courts of Additional District and Sessions Judge (TADA/POTA) Srinagar, and 3rd Additional District and Sessions Judge (TADA/POTA), Jammu as Special Courts for trial of offences under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967 investigated by State Investigation Agency (SIA).

“ln exercise of the powers conferred by sub section (1) of section 22 of the National Investigation Agency Act, 2008 and in partial modification of SRO 149 dated 01-03- 2019, S.0 68 dated 2502-2020, S.0 29 dated 11-01-2023, S.O. 102 dated 28.02.2023 and S.O. 335 dated 23.06.2023, the Government of Jammu and Kashmir, with the concurrence of Hon’ble Chief Justice of High Court of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh, hereby designates the Courts of Additional District and Sessions Judge (TADA/POTA) Srinagar, and 3rd Additional District and Sessions Judge (TADA/POTA), Jammu as Special Courts for trial of offences under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967 investigated by State Investigation Agency, Jammu and Kashmir for Division Kashmir and Division Jammu respectively,” a notification issued by J&K Law Secretary Achal Sethi read.
