J&K Consumer Commission President Nighat Sultan Visits District Consumer Commission Kupwara – Alfaaz – The Words

Kupwara: President of the J&K State Consumer Commission, Ms. Nighat Sultan, on Thursday paid an official visit to the District Consumer Commission Kupwara, where she was formally received by the district commission’s President Peerzada Qousar Hussain and Member Nyla Yaseen.

During the visit, Ms. Sultan interacted with the district commission officials and reviewed the functioning of consumer grievance redressal mechanisms at the local level. The interaction focused on strengthening consumer protection services, expediting disposal of pending cases, and improving coordination between district and state-level bodies.

The Bar Association Kupwara also joined the proceedings and extended a warm welcome to the visiting dignitary. Representatives of the legal fraternity highlighted matters related to case pendency, consumer awareness, and infrastructural needs of the district commission.

The Bar Association members on the occasion shared with the visiting dignitary their overall satisfaction with the overall working and achievements of the District Commission currently led by Peerzada Qousar Hussain and Nyla Yaseen as member.

Ms. Sultan on the eve herself appreciated and acknowledged the efforts of the Kupwara commission and stressed the importance of accessible and efficient consumer grievance redressal across all districts. She also encouraged greater public outreach to ensure citizens are aware of their consumer rights and available legal remedies.
