SRINAGAR: In a significant gesture aimed at empowering specially-abled children, JK Bank on Wednesday donated a transport vehicle and physiotherapy equipment to the Life Help Centre for Child Care (LHCCC), a Srinagar-based NGO working in the field of child disability support. The contribution comes as part of the Bank’s broader Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) commitment to inclusive development.
The handover took place during a brief function at the organisation’s Nowgam centre, where the Bank’s Deputy General Manager (CSR), Anup Bhat, formally presented the vehicle keys to LHCCC Secretary Dr Aaliya in the presence of other bank officials, NGO representatives, staff and children.
“At J&K Bank, we believe that meaningful CSR is about creating real impact in the lives of those who need it the most,” said Bhat, adding, “Our partnership with LHCCC reflects our commitment to addressing the critical social needs of Jammu and Kashmir—particularly in sectors such as healthcare, education and child welfare for the specially-abled.”
Calling the work of LHCCC “no less than a divine mission,” Bhat reiterated the Bank’s resolve to continue supporting grassroots organisations that deliver direct and transformative services.
Expressing gratitude, Dr Aaliya described the Bank’s intervention as both “generous and timely.” She noted that access remains one of the greatest challenges for children with developmental and neurological conditions. “This initiative will directly benefit children from underprivileged areas, enabling them to lead more empowered and dignified lives,” she said.
