TRAFFIC PLAN & ADVISORY FOR 25-09-2025 NH-44 (Jmu-Sgr)

Jammu-Srinagar NHW (NH-44) has not been fully restored at Thardal, Udhampur.

There was very slow movement observed on NH-44 due to intermittent rain, single lane traffic, undulating & uneven surface of the road at Thardal, breakdown of 07 HMVs and 16 nomadic flocks.

Traffic managed on regulated manner at Thardal, Udhampur on NH-44 due to single lane about 250-300 Mtrs.

Goods carrier (HMVs/Load Carriers) carrying fresh perishable/live stock are advised to prefer journey during day time. People are advised/requested by TCU to avoid journey on NH-44 till the road is clear.

Commuters are advised to follow lane discipline; overtaking, wrong lane driving will cause congestion. Avoid travel on hilly roads during night hours.

Subject to fair weather and better road condition, LMVs (Passenger/Private Cars) oneway traffic for LMVs shall be permitted from Jammu towards Srinagar on NH-44.

LMVs shall be allowed from Nagrota (Jammu) between 0700 hrs to 1000 hrs.
No LMV shall be allowed from Srinagar towards Jammu on NH-44.

HMVs/Load Carriers:
Subject to fair weather and better road conditions, only stranded vehicles between Nashri and NAVYUG Tunnel shall be allowed towards Jammu after assessing the traffic situation and road condition on NH-44. However, UP HMVs from Qazigund towards Srinagar shall be allowed after down HMVs tail crosses Thardal (Udhampur) TCU Srinagar/Jammu liaison with TCU Ramban before releasing the HMVs.

SFs Convoy Movement:
Security Forces are advised/requested not to ply against advisory/traffic plan in view of possible traffic congestion. They may ply from Srinagar towards Jammu after confirming the status of NHW from TCU Ramban tomorrow.

Kishtwar – Sinthan – Anantnag NH-244:
Subject to fair weather and good road condition, vehicular movement shall be allowed from both sides on Kishtwar-Sinthan-Anantnag road.

SSG Road:
Subject to fair weather and road condition, only one-way traffic for LMVs (passenger/private cars) shall be allowed from Srinagar towards Kargil on Srinagar-Sonamarg-Gumri road. LMVs followed by HMVs shall be allowed from Sonamarg between 0700 hrs to 1100 hrs. No vehicle shall be allowed after cut-off timing.

Mughal Road:
Subject to fair weather and good road condition, after getting green signal from road maintenance agencies (GREF), LMVs shall be allowed from both sides and HMVs shall be allowed from Srinagar towards Poonch. These vehicles shall be allowed from Behramgalla (Buffliaz) towards Shopian from 0800 hrs to 1600 hrs & from Herpora (Shopian) towards Poonch 0900 hrs to 1600 hrs.

ADVISORY:
People are advised not to undertake journey without confirming status of the road from Traffic Control Units.
