Jammu Srinagar NHW Traffic update 14 July 2025.
TRAFFIC POLICE HEADQUARTERS, J&K, JAMMU/SRINAGAR
Traffic Plan & Advisory for 13-07-2025:
From 12-07-2025, 1600 hrs. to 13-07-2025, 1600 hrs, there was slow movement observed on NH-44 due to breakdown of HMVs, single lane traffic at Nashri-Dalwas and movement of nomads.
LMVs Passengers:

Passenger vehicles traveling to Reasi, Katra, Udhampur, Pahalgam, Doda and Ramban towns are requested to keep to the left lane of the road to ensure their identification after exiting from Jammu/Jammu to facilitate smooth movement.
Passengers/commuters are advised not to travel on Jammu-Srinagar NHW during the night hours due to shooting stones/mudslides between Ramban and Banihal.
Good Carrier (HMV/LMV) Operators carrying fresh perishable stock are advised to load their vehicles as per the advisory issued by Traffic Police Headquarters in time to meet the cut-off timing fixed and poor condition of road at Nashri-Dalwas and between Marog & Kishtwari Pather on Jammu Srinagar NHW.
Fruit growers/Load carrier (HMV/LMV) Operators carrying fresh perishable from Valley towards Jammu are advised to load/park their vehicle timely every morning before 9.00 am at designated place between NAVYUG Tunnel and Levdoora so that their movement can be facilitated smoothly.
HMVs/Downstreamers are requested to desist from overloading and carry sufficient fuel during journey on Jammu-Srinagar NHW. It is further requested that vehicle owners must double check the fitness of their vehicles and carry sufficient fuel before undertaking journey on Jammu-Srinagar NHW.
HMVs with only 08 and 10 Tyres shall be allowed up to Hignoo falling on Jammu-Srinagar NHW.
Commuters are advised to avoid unnecessary haltage between Ramban and Banihal especially near Landslide/sliding zones.
TRAFFIC PLAN & ADVISORY FOR 14-07-2025:
Jammu-Srinagar NHW (NH-44):
Subject to fair weather and better road conditions SANJY convoy / LMVs Passenger / Private Cars shall be allowed from Navyug Tunnel towards Jammu (NH-44) viz from Jammu to Srinagar and vice-versa.
HMVs shall be allowed on alternate days. TCU Jammu/Srinagar shall liaise with TCU Ramban before releasing the HMVs.
Cut off timing for LMVs in view of SANJY-2025:
From Nagrota (Jammu) towards Srinagar:
⦁ 0600 hrs. to 1200 hrs.
From Jakhani (Udhampur) towards Srinagar:
⦁ 0700 hrs. to 1300 hrs.
From Qazigund towards Jammu:
⦁ 1130 hrs. to 1400 hrs.
No Vehicle shall be allowed before and after the cut-off timings. No vehicle shall be allowed after the cut-off timings.
HMVs/Load Carriers:
Subject to fair weather and better road conditions, HMVs shall be allowed from Jakheni (Udhampur) towards Srinagar after assessing the road and traffic situation on NH-44 and no HMV shall be allowed after 1900 hrs.
TCU Udhampur shall liaise with TCU Ramban before releasing the HMVs.
Security Forces Convoy Movement on 14-07-2025
Subject to fair weather/road condition and clearance by administration, to facilitate hassle-free movement of trucks carrying perishable goods on NH-44, UT administration has decided:
All tankers of Petrol, Diesel, Kerosene, LPG Gas, all trucks carrying empty LPG Cylinders, all empty vehicles of FCI, and other vehicles carrying fresh perishable items to Jammu/Kashmir shall be allowed to move as per advisory issued by DivCom Kashmir vide No. Divcom/Dev/1202/2025/755-64 dated: 11-07-2025 and Divcom Jammu vide No. Divcom/Dev/1202/2025/765-81 dated: 11-07-2025.
Srinagar-Sinthan-Anantnag NH-244:
Subject to fair weather and road condition, after getting green signal from NHIDCL, LMVs/HMPSVs shall be allowed from both sides via Kokernag towards Kishtwar and vice-versa on Kishtwar-Sinthan-Anantnag road.
These vehicles shall be allowed from DP Parana towards Anantnag from 0800 hrs to 1600 hrs and Dool towards Kishtwar from 0900 hrs to 1700 hrs. No HMV other than designated HMVs shall be allowed as per order issued by SDM Chatroo vide No. SDM/CK/2025-28/146-53 dated 16-05-2025 and SDM Kokernag vide No. SDM/KKG/65-71 dated 16-05-2025.
Mughal Road:
Subject to fair weather and good road condition, after getting green signal from the BRO, traffic movement shall be allowed on Mughal road for LMVs followed by HMVs from 0500 hrs. to 1000 hrs.
LMVs followed by HMVs shall be allowed from Sonamarg towards Kargil at 1130 hrs to 1730 hrs.
No vehicle shall be allowed after cut-off timings.
Srinagar-Leh Highway:
Subject to fair weather and clearance by BRO, LMVs shall be allowed from Sonamarg towards Kargil after getting green signal at 11:30 AM till 5:30 PM.
No vehicle shall be allowed before or after the timings. TCU Srinagar will contact TCU Kargil before releasing the traffic.
Advisory for SFs Convoy Movement:
Security Forces are advised/requested not to ply against the advisory/traffic plan in view of the possible traffic congestion and narrow carriage way on Jammu-Srinagar NHW.
They may ply from Jammu towards Srinagar after confirming the status of NHW.
