Banihal, Jan 28: Stranded light motor vehicles (LMVs) were released on the Jammu–Srinagar National Highway (NH-44) from both Qazigund and Udhampur on Wednesday following improvement in road conditions.

The highway was closed on Monday evening after fresh snowfall and slippery conditions affected the Banihal–Ramsoo sector, leading to traffic disruption.

DSP Traffic National Highway Banihal, S.P. Singh, said that after clearing the stranded vehicles, normal traffic movement on NH-44 would be restored.

He added that traffic is being regulated cautiously and commuters should adhere to official advisories.
