Jammu-Kathua Highway Traffic Reviewed After Bridge Collapses

SRINAGAR: On the instructions of DGP Jammu and Kashmir Nalin Parbhat and IGP Jammu Zone Bhim Sen Tuti, DIG Jammu-Samba-Kathua Range Shiv Kumar Sharma on Sunday visited Kathua district to review and plan restoration of traffic on the Jammu-Kathua National Highway following the collapse of the Logate Mor bridge.

On the directions of DGP Jammu and Kashmir Nalin Parbhat IPS and IGP Jammu Zone Bhim Sen Tuti IPS, Shiv Kumar Sharma IPS, DIG Jammu-Samba-Kathua Range, visited Kathua district and conducted joint inspection, review, planning and restoration of traffic on the NHW which has been disrupted due to the collapse of the Logate Mor NHW bridge.

SSP Kathua Shobit Saxena IPS, SSP Traffic Rural Girdhari Lal JKPS, Commandant IRP 18th Atul Sharma JKPS, were also present during the inspection of NHW Logate Mor bridges and identification of alternative routes for traffic restoration on the Jammu-Kathua road.

At DPL Kathua, a high-level coordination meeting was also held with NHAI officers, DC Kathua, SSP Kathua, Commandant CRPF Kathua, SSP Traffic Rural, SDRF officers, SDPOs, SHOs, DTI Traffic and other stakeholders to streamline traffic on the Jammu-Pathankot highway and to facilitate tourists, patients, ambulances and essential services.

All officers were directed to activate their control rooms and field staff for better coordination and facilitation of the general public on the Jammu-Kathua road. (KNC)
