Jammu Kashmir: Resident Held for Evading Arrest Since 2007

SRINAGAR: Jammu Kashmir Police in Jhajjar Kotli of Jammu tehsil today arrested an absconder who had been evading arrest for the past twelve years.

The accused has been identified as Raj Kumar, son of Kali Dass, a resident of Chowki Naushera in Rajouri district. He was wanted in connection with a case registered under FIR number 77 of 2007 at Police Station Jhajjar Kotli. The case was filed under Sections 270, 337, and 338 of the Ranbir Penal Code. A warrant under Section 512 of the CrPC had also been issued against him.

The police said a team led by Station House Officer Inspector Vikas Dogra apprehended the accused. Police said he will be produced before the court.

It may be noted that this is the second absconder arrested by Jhajjar Kotli Police within two days.
