Jammu Kashmir: Police Discover Two Shells in Field

SRINAGAR: Two suspected shells discovered in agricultural fields near Barota Road triggered alarm in Panchayat Dharmani in Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday, prompting swift intervention from the police.

Officials said that a Ramkot Police team rushed to the spot after receiving the alert and immediately cordoned off the area to restrict public movement.

The shells were found lying in fields close to Barota Road, prompting residents to notify authorities as a precaution, they said.

Police have taken cognisance of the incident, and verification is underway to determine the type and source of the recovered shells. (KNC)
