
SRINAGAR: The Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, has formally prorogued the Legislative Assembly of the Union Territory, bringing the current session to an official close.
A bulletin issued by the Assembly Secretariat stated that the order, dated April 7, 2026, was issued by the Lieutenant Governor under the powers conferred by Section 18(2)(a) of the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganization Act, 2019.
The prorogation marks the formal conclusion of all pending legislative business for the session, with the Assembly now set to reconvene at a later date as per official schedules.
