SRINAGAR: The High Court of Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh on Thursday announced its Winter Vacation, which will be observed from January 1 to January 24, 2026, both days inclusive.
During this period, the High Court will remain largely non-functional, with the initial phase from January 1 to January 10, 2026 designated as a “No Work Period,” meaning no judicial or administrative work will be conducted.
The announcement is aimed at facilitating administrative planning and allowing judges and court staff to avail leave during the designated winter recess. Routine judicial proceedings are expected to resume after the vacation, on January 25, 2026.
The High Court’s winter recess is an annual practice, designed to manage case backlogs and provide a structured break for judicial officers and employees. The public and litigants have been advised to plan their filings and court appearances accordingly.
