
SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir government told the Legislative Assembly that the Union territory currently holds 2,564,348 ration cards in total, of which 2,20,018 are Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY) cards and 1,42,916 are Priority Household (PHH) cards, the administration said in a written reply tabled on the floor. The data in the reply provides a district-wise breakdown.
The reply, submitted in response to an Unstarred assembly question by Abdul Majeed Bhat, records the consolidated figures for the two divisions: Jammu Division accounts for 1,236,027 ration cards and Kashmir Division for 1,328,321, bringing the Jammu and Kashmir total to 2,564,348.
The highest number of AAY beneficiaries is recorded in Kupwara at 27,460, followed by Baramulla at 25,801. The highest number of PHH beneficiaries are recorded in Jammu at 1,45,92, followed by Srinagar at 1,28,512.
In Doda district, there are 9,188 AAY ration cards, 55,853 PHH ration cards, 25,739 NPH ration cards and 6,356 exclusion ration cards, taking the total number of ration cards to 97,136. In Ramban district, there are 4,438 AAY ration cards, 37,408 PHH ration cards, 20,367 NPH ration cards and 3,070 exclusion ration cards, with a total of 65,283 ration cards.
Kishtwar district has 6,354 AAY ration cards, 38,965 PHH ration cards, 15,223 NPH ration cards and 3,861 exclusion ration cards, bringing the total to 64,403. In Udhampur district, there are 4,282 AAY ration cards, 64,991 PHH ration cards, 37,673 NPH ration cards and 8,726 exclusion ration cards, with the total standing at 115,672. Reasi district has 9,357 AAY ration cards, 43,796 PHH ration cards, 22,957 NPH ration cards and 1,010 exclusion ration cards, making a total of 77,120 ration cards.
Jammu district has 8,467 AAY ration cards, 145,926 PHH ration cards, 12,290 NPH ration cards and 55,876 exclusion ration cards, taking the total to 333,199 ration cards. Samba district has 1,940 AAY ration cards, 35,927 PHH ration cards, 28,420 NPH ration cards and 3,800 exclusion ration cards, with the total number at 70,087. In Poonch district, there are 10,567 AAY ration cards, 60,132 PHH ration cards, 31,650 NPH ration cards and 1,383 exclusion ration cards, taking the total to 103,732.
Rajouri district has 13,578 AAY ration cards, 94,328 PHH ration cards, 49,077 NPH ration cards and 897 exclusion ration cards, with a total of 157,880 ration cards. Kathua district has 6,968 AAY ration cards, 87,757 PHH ration cards, 48,113 NPH ration cards and 8,677 exclusion ration cards, bringing the total to 151,515. Baramulla district has 25,801 AAY ration cards, 106,575 PHH ration cards, 74,291 NPH ration cards and 667 exclusion ration cards, taking the total to 207,334 ration cards.
Bandipora district has 8,988 AAY ration cards, 43,913 PHH ration cards, 23,224 NPH ration cards and 175 exclusion ration cards, with the total at 76,300. Srinagar district has 7,777 AAY ration cards, 128,512 PHH ration cards, 79,290 NPH ration cards and 5,838 exclusion ration cards, bringing the total to 221,417. Ganderbal district has 5,304 AAY ration cards, 38,061 PHH ration cards, 16,964 NPH ration cards and 1,288 exclusion ration cards, taking the total to 61,617 ration cards.
Pulwama district has 13,985 AAY ration cards, 59,975 PHH ration cards, 37,239 NPH ration cards and 532 exclusion ration cards, making a total of 111,731. Shopian district has 6,515 AAY ration cards, 33,083 PHH ration cards, 21,098 NPH ration cards and 160 exclusion ration cards, bringing the total to 60,856. Anantnag district has 19,812 AAY ration cards, 119,078 PHH ration cards, 49,438 NPH ration cards and 1,020 exclusion ration cards, taking the total to 189,348 ration cards.
Kulgam district has 10,734 AAY ration cards, 48,799 PHH ration cards, 29,069 NPH ration cards and 597 exclusion ration cards, with the total at 89,199. Kupwara district has 27,460 AAY ration cards, 94,401 PHH ration cards, 34,021 NPH ration cards and 221 exclusion ration cards, bringing the total to 156,103. Budgam district has 18,503 AAY ration cards, 91,696 PHH ration cards, 43,489 NPH ration cards and 728 exclusion ration cards, taking the total number of ration cards to 154,416.
