SRINAGAR: The Jammu Kashmir Government  announced a large-scale reshuffle in the Finance Department, ordering the transfer and posting of dozens of senior officers across key departments, universities and public sector organisations.

According to Government Order No. 381-F of 2025, issued on November 29, several Directors Finance, Financial Advisors, Chief Accounts Officers and treasury officials have been reassigned “in the interest of administration” with immediate effect.

Among the major changes, Rajesh Talwar, Director Finance in the Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Department, has been posted as Principal, Northern Zonal Accountancy Training Institute, Jammu. Imtiyaz Ahmad Wani, Director Finance in the Transport Department, has been appointed Director Resources in the Finance Department and will assume charge after the retirement of Showkat Hussain Mir on December 31

The order also transfers Abdul Majid Bhat to the General Administration Department,  Satnam Singh to the Disaster Management, Relief and Rehabilitation Department, and Ashok Kumar to the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department, where he will continue to hold additional charge of the Election Department.

Key departmental shifts include postings in the Home Department, Jal Shakti, Higher Education, Tourism and Culture, School Education, Revenue, Health Services, Social Welfare, Municipal Corporations, JK Power Development entities, and major universities including SKUAST-K, SKUAST-J, SMVDU and SKIMS Soura.

The order covers more than 75 senior officials, including Directors Finance, Financial Advisors/Chief Accounts Officers, Deputy Directors, Joint Directors and Treasury Officers. Several officers have also been assigned additional charge until further orders.

The Finance Department said the reshuffle aims to streamline administrative functioning, ensure timely oversight of financial operations and optimise the deployment of experienced personnel across Jammu Kashmir.
