SRINAGAR: The Government of Jammu and Kashmir has constituted a Contract Committee for the Department of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs to finalise the contract for the construction of the new District Court Complex at Sarnal in Anantnag.

According to Government Order No. 66-JK(GAD) of 2026, issued by the General Administration Department, the committee has been constituted in terms of SO 15 of 2020 dated January 9, 2020, issued by the Finance Department.

The Secretary to the Government, Department of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, will serve as the Chairman of the committee. The panel will include a representative from the Finance Department; the Secretary Technical (Engineer-in-Chief) of the Public Works (Roads and Buildings) Department; the Chief Engineer, Public Works (R and B) Department, South Kashmir; the Chief Engineer of Inspections, Quality Control and Design; the Chief Engineer, Mechanical Engineering Department; the Director Finance of the Department of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs; a representative from the Industries and Commerce Department not below the rank of Additional Secretary; and the Assistant Director (Planning) of the Department of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs.

The committee has been tasked with finalising contractual matters related to the construction of the District Court Complex, a key judicial infrastructure project in south Kashmir.
