Jammu Kashmir: Govt Announces Major Transfers and Postings Across Departments

SRINAGAR: The Government of Jammu Kashmir on Thursday issued a series of transfers and postings across multiple departments with immediate effect, according to Government Order No. 1503-JK(GAD) of 2025.

The reshuffle, aimed at strengthening administrative efficiency, affects senior and junior officers of the Jammu Kashmir Administrative Service (JKAS) and includes key positions in departments such as Forest, Ecology and Environment, Medical Supplies, Social Welfare, Tourism, Power Development, and Finance.

Among the notable changes, Rajinder Singh Tara, previously Controller of Legal Metrology, has been appointed Secretary in the Department of Forest, Ecology and Environment. Tariq Hussain Ganai has been posted as Managing Director of the JK Medical Supplies Corporation on a full-time basis, while Mr. Sajad Hussain Ganai takes charge as Mission Director, ICDS, JK.

Several officers will hold additional charges, including Bashir Ahmad Khan, who will oversee the JK Rehabilitation Council alongside his duties in Social Welfare. Other significant postings include Shiv Kumar Gupta as Controller of Legal Metrology, Reyaz Ahmad Wani as Special Secretary in the Science and Technology Department, and Natasha Kalsotra as Registrar of the JK Special Tribunal.

The order also lists transfers and placements for junior scale officers across departments such as Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Handlooms and Handicrafts, Transport, Tribal Affairs, and Planning, Development and Monitoring.

The order stated that the reshuffle is “in the interest of administration” and instructed officers to assume their new roles immediately.
