Jammu Kashmir Government Re-designates IAS Officers Following Promotions | Kashmir Life

SRINAGAR: The Government of Jammu and Kashmir on Monday issued orders re-designating several IAS officers of the JK segment of the AGMUT cadre after their promotion to higher grades by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India.

According to Government Order No. 43-JK(GAD) of 2026, dated January 12, the officers were re-designated following their elevation to the Higher Administrative Grade (Level-15), Super Time Scale (Level-14), and Selection Grade (Level-13), effective from 1 January 2026.

Sanjeev Verma, IAS (AGMUT:2001), has been appointed Principal Secretary, Election Department. Prasanna Ramaswamy G, IAS (AGMUT:2010), has been designated Commissioner/Secretary, Tribal Affairs Department, while Ram Niwas Sharma, IAS (AGMUT:2010), takes charge as Commissioner/Secretary, School Education Department.

Avny Lavasa, IAS (AGMUT:2013), has been assigned the role of Secretary, Transport Department. The re-designations aim to ensure smooth administrative functioning following the officers’ promotions.
