SRINAGAR: Teams of Jammu and Kashmir Police, Army and Border Security Force (BSF), accompanied by sniffer dog units, conducted joint search operations in forward areas along the International Border (IB) in Kathua, Samba and Jammu districts as part of heightened security measures, an official said on Tuesday, according to the Daily Excelsior.

BSF troops, alongside the police Special Operations Group (SOG) and sniffer dogs, carried out searches in areas near the IB, including Ganjansoo, Marh and Domana in Jammu; Nadala, Regal, Pangdour and Galar in Samba; and Khanpur and Pansar in Kathua district. The forces also inspected migratory settlements along the border, with bomb disposal squads deployed in select locations, the Daily Excelsior reported.

Senior officials, including Director General of Police Nalin Prabhat and officers from the police, Army and BSF, visited forward posts along the Indo-Pak border to assess security arrangements and operational readiness.

Officials said a comprehensive winter strategy has been implemented across the IB sector to prevent infiltration attempts by Pakistan-based militants, who could exploit foggy conditions during the coming months.
