SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Government on Wednesday rejected a Private Members’ Bill moved by MLA Pulwama Waheed-ur-Rehman Para in the Legislative Assembly, which sought regularisation of daily wagers working across various government departments.
The proposed legislation aimed to address the long-standing demand of thousands of daily-rated workers for job security and regularisation of services. However, the government did not accept the bill, leading to its rejection in the House.
Following the decision, all legislators of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) staged a walkout from the Assembly in protest, expressing strong dissatisfaction over the government’s position on the issue.
