SRINAGAR: The Rajouri District Administration has suspended the Principal and three staff members of Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Ghambir Mughlan following serious allegations of sexual abuse, misconduct, and inappropriate behaviour.
Deputy Commissioner Abhishek Sharma ordered the suspensions with immediate effect after residents and local representatives submitted a written complaint and a CCTV video circulating on social media heightened concerns over the safety of female students and staff. An FIR (No. 0102/2025, dated November 9, 2025) has been registered at Police Station Manjakote against the accused officials.
Those suspended include Principal Mohammad Farooq, teacher Tanveer Ajaz, and Class IV employees Manzoor Hussain and Mushtaq Ahmed. All four have been attached to the Office of the Chief Education Officer (CEO) Rajouri pending a detailed inquiry.
The CEO has been instructed to conduct a preliminary investigation and submit a factual report within 15 days along with recommendations for further action.
DC Sharma said the administration was treating the matter with utmost seriousness, stressing that the inquiry would be fair, transparent, and free of influence. He reiterated the district’s commitment to ensuring the safety and dignity of female students and staff, adding that strict action would follow once the probe is completed.
