SRINAGAR: Minister Javed Dar on Monday said that Jammu and Kashmir is 90 per cent back on track post-snowfall, with roads and power restored, while the rest of the pending restoration works will be completed by tomorrow.

Praising the snowfall as a blessing from the Almighty, Dar said it has ended dry water source issues and averted summer tap shortages.

Acknowledging complaints over road clearance and power disruptions, he compared JK’s response to developed nations, where operations pause briefly before full deployment.

“90 per cent of major priority 1 and 2 roads have been cleared and electricity is 90 per cent restored,” he said.

Dar detailed Mission Yuva’s target to support 1.37 lakh fresh entrepreneurs over the next four years, generating over 4.5 lakh employment opportunities. “These are not government jobs but self-started businesses that will employ others,” he clarified.

On upcoming budget session, the minister said preparations are complete for Chief Minister’s announcements on horticulture, agriculture, family welfare, school education and skill development.

Earlier, the minister unfurled the national flag at Baramulla amid a large gathering of 7,000-7,500 people braving the winter chill. The event was attended by DIG North Kashmir Maqsood-ul-Zaman, Deputy Commissioner Baramulla (DC) Minga Sherpa, SSP Baramulla Gurinderpal Singh and other senior officials. (KNO)
