Jal Jeevan Mission House Committee Reviews Projects in Kupwara – Alfaaz – The Words

Kupwara: A House Committee of the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) on Tuesday visited Kupwara district to review the status of ongoing water supply schemes. The delegation was led by House Committee Chairman and MLA Tral, Hasnain Masoodi, and comprised the Managing Director, Mission Director, Chief Engineer of JJM, along with several legislators.

During the visit, MLA Langate Sheikh Khursheed, presented a comprehensive briefing on all 35 JJM schemes in his constituency. He submitted detailed written notes outlining the technical, administrative, and funding-related challenges affecting each project.

Khursheed called for the immediate resumption of work on stalled schemes, specifically flagging projects in Natanusa, Watain, Kulgam, and Qaziabad. He emphasized the need for timely resolution of pending financial issues and urged that all ongoing works be completed by the end of March. Concerns related to the JJM Humpora scheme were also highlighted before the committee.

The House Committee assured that the issues raised would be examined with due seriousness and reaffirmed its commitment to taking necessary measures to ensure the timely implementation of schemes and the supply of safe drinking water to the public. (via. Bhat Danish)
