Srinagar, Feb 18: In a historic achievement, Jammu and Kashmir have entered their first-ever Ranji Trophy final, marking a landmark moment in the region’s cricketing history.

J&K chased down a modest target of 126 runs with ease to seal victory, while pacer Auqib Nabi delivered a sensational performance, claiming a nine-wicket haul in the match to script one of the finest bowling displays for the side.

The victory sparked celebrations across the Union Territory, with leaders and cricket enthusiasts hailing the team’s remarkable journey in the tournament.

Speaking to reporters, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah congratulated the team on their historic feat.

“On behalf of the people of Jammu and Kashmir, I congratulate the team for this outstanding victory. The day is not far when we will see our players representing the national team,” the Chief Minister said.

He termed the achievement as a proud moment for J&K and expressed hope that the team would continue its winning momentum in the final. (KNC)
