IUST Awantipora To Fill Assistant Professor Posts, Last Date Extended

Islamic University of Science & Technology (IUST), Awantipora has released an official advertisement inviting online applications for the engagement of Assistant Professors (Contractual) in the Centre for Vocational Studies. The recruitment is for three posts—two in Medical Radiology & Imaging Technology and one in Operation Theater Technology.

As per the updated notice dated 9th July 2025, the last date to submit online applications has been extended to 11th July 2025 and the hard copy submission deadline is now 14th July 2025. The selection will be made as per UGC Regulations 2018 and shall involve shortlisting based on academic merit followed by an interview.

Selected candidates will be appointed on an academic arrangement basis for the year 2025, ending on 31st December 2025, or until the post is filled permanently—whichever is earlier. The salary offered ranges between ₹45,000 and ₹50,000 per month depending on the candidate’s qualifications.

Eligibility Criteria:

Candidates must have a Master’s Degree in Operation Theatre Technology or Medical Radiology & Imaging Technology with at least 55% marks or equivalent grade. Additionally, candidates must have cleared NET/SLET/SET or hold a Ph.D. as per UGC norms. For disciplines where NET/SLET/SET is not conducted, these criteria are waived. Ph.D. holders from top 500 ranked global institutions are also eligible as per UGC guidelines.

Salary:
The monthly emoluments will be as follows:

PG only: ₹45,000
NET/SET/GATE: ₹48,000
Ph.D.: ₹50,000
Both NET/SET/GATE and Ph.D.: ₹50,000

After submitting the online form, candidates must submit the hard copy of their application along with self-attested documents in the concerned department by the due date. Failure to submit the hard copy will result in disqualification.

The application fee is ₹300, to be paid online while submitting the form.

Selection Process:
Candidates will be shortlisted for the interview as per UGC Regulations 2018, Appendix II (Table 3A). Up to 20 candidates will be shortlisted per post and 5 more for each additional post. Final selection will be based on interview only.
