Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) has released CEN No. 02/2025 to recruit 6238 Technician posts across Indian Railways including 183 Technician Grade 1 Signal and 6055 Technician Grade 3 posts. The online application window opens from 28 June 2025 to 28 July 2025.

RRB Technician Recruitment 2025 – Overview:
Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) have issued the detailed notification for Technician Grade 1 Signal and Technician Grade 3 posts under CEN 02/2025. A total of 6238 vacancies are available under this drive. Candidates will be selected through a Computer Based Test (CBT), followed by Document Verification and Medical Examination. Separate CBTs will be conducted for each pay level.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification:
Technician Grade 1 Signal: B.Sc (Physics/Electronics/Computer Science/IT/Instrumentation) or 3-year Diploma/Degree in relevant Engineering disciplines.
Technician Grade 3: Matriculation/SSLC + ITI in relevant trades (e.g. Fitter, Electrician, etc.) or Course Completed Act Apprenticeship.

Age Limit (as on 01 July 2025):
Technician Grade 1 Signal: 18 to 33 years
Technician Grade 3: 18 to 30 years
Age relaxation applicable for reserved categories as per rules.

Medical Standards: Varies from A3 to C1 depending on the trade. Candidates must satisfy visual and physical fitness as per Indian Railway Medical Manual.

Application Fee:
UR/OBC/EWS: ₹500 (₹400 refundable after CBT)
SC/ST/PwBD/ExSM/Female/Minorities/EBC: ₹250 (fully refundable after CBT)

Selection Process:
The selection Process involves following stages:
Computer Based Test (CBT): Separate CBTs for each pay level; MCQs; 1/3rd negative marking.
Document Verification
Medical Examination

Exam Pattern: The CBT will have 100 questions, carrying 1 mark each. Normalisation will apply for multi-shift exams.

Eligible candidates can apply online from 28 June to 28 July 2025 through the RRB websites. Candidates must choose one RRB and one pay level. Multiple applications for the same pay level will lead to disqualification.
