The Indian Coast Guard has released a notification inviting applications from eligible male Indian citizens for the posts of Assistant Commandant General Duty and Technical (Engineering & Electrical/Electronics) for the 2027 batch. A total of 170 vacancies are available under this notification.

As per the official notification, candidates applying for General Duty and Technical branches must be between 21 to 25 years of age as on 01 July 2026. The monthly salary for Assistant Commandant begins at Rs. 56,100 and goes up to Rs. 2,05,400 based on promotions. The selection will be made through a five-stage process including written examination, interviews, and medicals.

Interested and eligible candidates can apply online by visiting the Indian Coast Guard website joinindiancoastguard.cdac.in from 08 July 2025 (1600 hrs) to 23 July 2025 (2330 hrs). The application fee is Rs. 300 for all categories except SC/ST candidates who are exempted.

Eligibility Criteria:

Candidates applying for General Duty must hold a graduate degree from a recognized university with Mathematics and Physics at 10+2 level. Those with graduation after diploma are also eligible if their diploma included Physics and Mathematics.

For the Technical branch, candidates must have an engineering degree in specified disciplines such as Mechanical, Electrical, Marine, Electronics, etc., or equivalent AMIE qualifications. They should also have studied Physics and Mathematics up to 12th standard.

The age limit for all posts is 21 to 25 years as on 01 July 2026. Upper age relaxation of 5 years is available for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC (non-creamy layer), applicable only if posts are reserved.

Application Fee:

Selection Process:
The selection of candidates will be on the basis of a five-stage process:
Stage-I includes a computer-based CGCAT test with 100 questions across English, Reasoning, General Science, Math, and GK.
Stage-II comprises Preliminary Selection Board tests like PP&DT and Cognitive Battery Test.
Stage-III includes a Final Selection Board interview.
Stage-IV involves medical examination.
Stage-V is the final induction stage at INA Ezhimala.
