Langate: The Indian Army on Tuesday hosted a grand Iftar gathering at its Langate camp in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district, bringing together officials from the security establishment, civil administration and members of the local community.

Senior officers of the Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police, civil administration officials, media persons, political representatives and prominent citizens from the area attended the event.

The gathering began with collective prayers during which participants prayed for peace, prosperity and the well-being of the nation and its people. Held during the holy month of Ramadan, the event reflected the spirit of compassion, brotherhood and mutual respect associated with the occasion.

Participants appreciated the Army’s initiative, saying such engagements help strengthen ties between the security forces and civilians and promote greater understanding and trust in the region.

The evening concluded in a cordial atmosphere as attendees shared traditional Ramadan delicacies and interacted with one another.

Officials said such outreach programmes are aimed at strengthening bonds with the local population and promoting goodwill and cooperation in Jammu and Kashmir.
