Indian Army Hands Over Pakistani Woman Held Near LoC | Kashmir Life

SRINAGAR: A Pakistani national woman who was apprehended near the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district earlier this month was handed over to the Pakistan Army authorities on Wednesday.

A security official said that the woman, a resident of Mohra Shareef village in Nakyal tehsil of Kotli district in Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK), was apprehended on December 16 by troops of the 22 Jammu and Kashmir Rifles near Dabi post in the Hamirpur area, falling under the area of responsibility of the 120 Infantry Brigade, he said.

She was later brought to Mendhar police station and subsequently handed over through the Chakanda Bagh gate along the Line of Control, which was opened from this evening he said.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (Operations) Poonch, Army officers and other officials were present at the time of the handover, he added.(KNC)
