SRINAGAR: Lieutenant Governor of Jammu Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, on Sunday said that India will power the world’s next wave of innovation, driven by its strong scientific base, technological progress, and young entrepreneurial talent.
Addressing the 16th Convocation of the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Raipur, Sinha emphasised that the nation’s focus must remain on translating research and scientific findings into practical applications for sustainable economic growth and improved quality of life.
“The world is watching India with new respect — as a nation that not only dreams big but also delivers. Institutions like NIT Raipur are nurturing young minds, connecting academia with industry, and transforming ideas into innovation,” Sinha said.
Highlighting the need for job creators and entrepreneurs, he urged young researchers to develop solutions addressing climate change, healthcare, education, and technology, thereby strengthening India’s journey towards self-reliance and inclusive growth.
“Let your ideas not just build things, but change lives. Every innovation starts with a question — keep asking, keep exploring, and keep moving this great land of Bharat forward,” the Lieutenant Governor told the graduating students.
He underlined that advancements in machine learning, generative AI, and autonomous systems would soon transform every sphere of life, becoming major drivers of economic growth. “India has become the global epicentre for Global Capability Centres (GCCs), 90 per cent of which are now multi-functional and contributing to product engineering and research worldwide,” he noted, predicting a significant rise in their numbers by 2030.
Sinha concluded his address by sharing Five Mantras for success: embrace lifelong learning, focus on problem-solving, think innovatively, value teamwork, and stay resilient to change.
“These guiding principles will empower you to adapt to evolving technologies, industries, and workplaces and to lead India’s innovation story in the years to come,” he said.
