Srinagar: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Tuesday said India has emerged as the world’s fourth-largest economy and that more than 25 crore people have risen out of poverty under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Speaking to reporters on the occasion of the Prime Minister’s birthday, Sinha said Jammu and Kashmir will observe a fortnight of service activities from September 17 to October 2, ending on Mahatma Gandhi’s birth anniversary. He explained that the administration has planned several programmes during this period, with a special focus on women’s health and overall well-being.
Extending birthday greetings to PM Modi, the LG said he prays for the Prime Minister’s continued health and dedication. “Under his leadership, India has become the fourth largest economy in the world and over 25 crore people have come out of poverty to lead dignified lives,” Sinha stated.
According to Sinha, India’s global standing has strengthened in recent years. “If we speak about self-respect and security, the country’s status today is at its highest level in the world,” he remarked.
Reflecting on the last decade, the LG said the nation has witnessed significant change. “In the last 10 to 11 years, the Prime Minister has worked with great dedication for the country and its people. Economic development was the need of the hour, and its benefits have now reached rural areas and the poor,” he said.
