Khurhama (Lolab): The Indian National Congress (Block Wavoora) convened a significant Workers’ Meeting on Sunday under the leadership of District President Kupwara, Haji Farooq Ahmad Mir, at Khurhama.
The meeting witnessed several key figures joining the party, including Haji Dawood Ahmad Khan (Cheepoora, Retired Range Officer), Gh Mohd Kataria, Abdul Qayoom Bhat, and Gh Nabi Sheikh, enhancing the party’s influence in the area.
Speakers including Amanulla Khan, Gh Nabi (Sarpanch), Ab Rashid Sofi, Bashir Bajad (ST President Lolab), Nazir Hussain Kalas, Fasil Nasser Mir (Youth President Lolab), and Yasir Ahmad Chard shared strategies to strengthen party operations at the local level.
The Mahila Congress actively participated, highlighting the organisation’s inclusive engagement.
Haji Farooq Ahmad Mir welcomed Nazir Hussain Kalas on his appointment as Chairman of Kissan Sabha District Kupwara and urged party workers to intensify door-to-door campaigns. He emphasised preparation for the upcoming Panchayat and ULB elections, asserting that Congress is the only secular national party capable of safeguarding society from communal politics.
