Illegal Fuel Consignment Seized in South Kashmir | Kashmir Life

SRINAGAR: Police in Pulwama district of south Kashmir have seized an illegally transported fuel consignment during a routine checking operation at Litter area.

A police team intercepted a load carrier on suspicion and, during checking, found six barrels containing an inflammable substance believed to be petrol or diesel. The fuel was being transported without any valid authorisation or permit, police said. The vehicle along with the barrels was seized.

A case, FIR No. 02/2026, has been registered at Police Station Litter under Sections 303(2) and 287 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), and an investigation has been initiated.

Police said efforts are underway to ascertain the source of the fuel, its intended destination and the involvement of other persons, if any.
