Jammu, Jul 28: J&K Government Monday relieved Inspector General of Police (IGP), Crime Dr Sunil Gupta from the Union Territory to enable him to take up his new assignment and assigned the additional charge of IGP Crime J&K to IGP Security, J&K Sujit Kumar.
“In pursuance to the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India’s communication under reference, and the approval of competent authority, Dr Sunil Gupta, IPS (2007), IGP Crime J&K is hereby relieved from the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir, with effect from July 28, 2025 (A/N), to take up his new assignment,” read an order issued by J&K Home Principal Secretary Chandraker Bharti on behalf of the Lieutenant Governor, while referring to Letter No 14046/130/2024-UTS.I dated June 19, 2025, from Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India.
“Consequent to it, Sujit Kumar, IPS (2007), IGP Security J&K, shall hold the charge of IGP Crime J&K, in addition to his own duties,” read the order.
