ICAR CITH Srinagar Walk-in For Senior Research Fellow Post Under Genome Editing Project

ICAR-Central Institute of Temperate Horticulture, Srinagar has issued an official notification for the engagement of eligible candidates for one post of Senior Research Fellow (SRF). The recruitment is purely on a contractual basis for a period of one year or until the availability of project funds.

The walk-in interview will be conducted at the institute’s campus on 14 July 2025 at 11:00 AM. The selected candidate will work on the project titled “Genome editing using a CRISPR/Cas9 system for inducing early flowering and drought tolerance in apple”. The monthly salary for the post is Rs. 31,000 plus HRA as applicable under ICAR guidelines.

Interested candidates who meet the required qualifications and experience should appear for the interview with their bio-data, original documents, and self-attested copies of certificates. Candidates must also bring passport-size photographs and an NOC from their employer if currently employed.

Eligibility Criteria:

Qualification: For the post of Senior Research Fellow, candidates must have a Master’s degree in Plant Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Agriculture, or Horticulture with a 4/5 year bachelor’s degree. Those with a postgraduate degree in basic sciences must have a 3-year bachelor’s degree and a 2-year master’s degree, along with NET qualification and 2 years of research experience, as per ICAR and DST guidelines.

Age Limit: The maximum age limit is 35 years for men and 40 years for women as on 01 July 2025. Age relaxation will be provided as per rules.
Candidates with experience in Genome Editing and Plant Transformation will be preferred.

Selection Process:

Marks are distributed as: 50 for essential qualification, 5 for Ph.D., 10 for experience, 10 for NASS-rated publications, 5 for awards including NET, and 20 for the interview.
