
Srinagar, Mar 23: Indian Buildings Congress (J&K Chapter), in collaboration with Govt School Yadipora, Pattan, organized a programme to mark the World Water Day, emphasizing the need to actively involve students in water conservation efforts.
Er Irfan Shafi Parray, Honorary Secretary, IBC J&K Chapter, highlighted the growing stress on water resources and stressed the importance of adopting sustainable water management practices at both institutional and household levels.
In his message, Chairman IBC J&K Chapter, Er Aamir Ali, emphasized that water conservation must evolve into a students’ movement, particularly in the ecologically sensitive region like J&K. He underscored the need to integrate rainwater harvesting and sustainable water practices into building planning and community infrastructure.
Head of the Institution, Abdul Rashid Sheikh, spoke about the vital role of schools in shaping responsible behaviour among students and promoting awareness on water conservation. The programme witnessed active participation from faculty and students, who appreciated the initiative of IBC J&K Chapter in organizing the event and raising awareness at the grassroots level.
