IB Security Assistant Executive Posts, Registration Process For 4987 Posts Ends On August 17, Apply Now

The Intelligence Bureau under the Ministry of Home Affairs will close the application process for the engagement of Security Assistant/Executive (SA/Exe) posts on August 17, 2025. Candidates are required to apply online through the official website of MHA at mha.gov.in. A total of 4987 vacancies have been announced across various Subsidiary Intelligence Bureaux in India.

As per the notification, candidates applying should be between 18 and 27 years of age as on 17 August 2025. Relaxations in age will be provided as per government norms. The pay scale for these posts falls under Pay Level 3 (₹21700-69100), along with central government allowances and a 20% Special Security Allowance. The selection process will be conducted in three stages including written examinations and an interview.

Eligible applicants can submit their applications online through the official portal of the Ministry of Home Affairs or the National Career Service portal. The last date to apply is 17 August 2025 up to 11:59 PM, while the fee payment through challan is allowed till 19 August 2025 during banking hours.

Vacancy Details:
This notification aims to fill 4987 vacancies of Security Assistant/Executive posts across multiple Subsidiary Intelligence Bureaux. Major allocations include Delhi with 1124 posts, Trivandrum with 334, Chennai with 285, Kolkata with 280, Mumbai with 266, Ahmedabad with 307, and other regions. Each Subsidiary Intelligence Bureau requires candidates to have knowledge of the local language or dialect specified in the notification.

Eligibility Criteria:
Applicants must have passed Matriculation (10th class) or equivalent from a recognized board. A domicile certificate of the state or union territory applied for is mandatory. Knowledge of at least one of the listed local languages or dialects for the respective Subsidiary Intelligence Bureau is essential. Field experience in intelligence work is considered desirable.

The prescribed age limit is 18 to 27 years as of 17 August 2025. Age relaxations include 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC, and up to 40 years for eligible departmental candidates. Women applicants, ex-servicemen, and sportspersons are also entitled to relaxations as per government rules.

A new page will open where candidates will have to enter the registration details.
Once done, login to the account.
Fill the application form and make the payment of application fee.
Click on submit and download the confirmation page.
Keep a hard copy of the same for further need.

The application fee is structured category-wise. All candidates are required to pay ₹550 as processing charges. Male candidates of UR, EWS, and OBC categories must pay an additional ₹100 as the examination fee, making a total of ₹650.

Selection Process:
The selection procedure consists of three stages. Tier-I is an online objective examination of 100 marks covering General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, Logical Reasoning, English, and General Studies with negative marking. Tier-II is a descriptive translation test carrying 50 marks. Tier-III is an interview or personality test worth 50 marks. The final merit list will be prepared based on the combined performance in Tier-I and Tier-III.
