
Ramban, Mar 4: The festival of colours, Holi, was celebrated with great enthusiasm and joy across the three districts of the Chenab region on Wednesday.
According to reports, Holi celebrations were held peacefully in Doda, Kishtwar and Ramban districts.
Authorities had made elaborate security arrangements to ensure smooth celebrations. Police personnel were deployed at key locations across all three districts to maintain law and order and to prevent any disruption.
Holi, the Hindu festival of colours, marks the triumph of good over evil and the arrival of spring, symbolising new beginnings and harmony. The festival is widely known for the tradition of smearing and throwing coloured powders, reflecting joy and togetherness.
Celebrations were organised at Police Station Doda, CRPF 84 Battalion headquarters Chanderkote, and in several towns across the region. Participants gathered to celebrate the occasion with enthusiasm, applying colours to one another in a spirit of friendship and communal harmony.
The festive atmosphere was marked by laughter, music and cheerful exchanges, as people from different walks of life came together to celebrate the vibrant occasion in a peaceful and joyous manner.

The celebrations witnessed active participation from officers, jawans, their family members and local residents, reflecting unity and festive cheer.
Participants exchanged Holi greetings, played with colours and shared traditional sweets, strengthening bonds of camaraderie. The atmosphere resonated with joy as the CRPF fraternity celebrated the festival away from their native places.
Speaking on the occasion, Commandant 84 Battalion, N Ranbir Singh, said that CRPF personnel, drawn from different parts of the country, often serve in remote and conflict-prone areas in the line of duty. He noted that such celebrations are organised to ensure that personnel and their families do not feel isolated and continue to experience the warmth of festive traditions despite being posted far from home.
He also urged everyone to uphold the spirit of harmony and brotherhood and to contribute actively towards nation-building.
The celebration concluded on a joyous note, reaffirming the commitment of the CRPF fraternity to unity, resilience and dedicated service to the nation.
