History immortalized – J&K ‘s first ever win of Ranji Trophy – PM leads nation in hailing the victory as historic .

Today, while inaugurating a cricket tournament in Jammu , LG Sinha while reflecting on the growing spirit of sports in J&K , recollected that how PM Modi’s PMDP and Rs. 200 crore granted by Home Minister Amit Shah for constructing outdoor and indoor stadiums in each of 20 districts of J&K had proved to be a game-changer.

Chief Minister Omar Abdullah hailed the team as newer role models for the youth of Jammu and Kashmir . While congratulating Team J&K on their historic triumph in the Ranji Trophy , he announced a cash reward of Rs. 2 crore for the players and support staff after their emphatic victory over Karnataka on their home turf.
He called it a watershed moment for Jammu and Kashmir cricket as he stated that “ the landmark win has filled the entire region with pride and inspiration . the players will also be filled with pride and inspiration . The players will also be entitled to government appointments under the recently notified rules for outstanding sports persons.”
